1 - Installation



To run this program, unzip the file CATAPULT.ZIP into the main directory of VCS Simulator (don't create a subdir).
Launch the program VCSS2.EXE, choose the options, select the cartridge "CATAPULT" and activate the "Run" button.
Choose Options Run Cartridge





2 - Game Objective



You are using a catapult to destroy your enemy castle.
Be the first one to destroy your opponent fortress to win the war.

Note : For Gameplay reasons, the catapults can't be destroyed.




3 - Using The Controllers



Use 1 or 2 Controllers with this VCSS Game Program :

- Joystick #1 = Player 1 (= Keyboard "CTRL").
- Joystick #2 = Player 2 (= Keyboard "SPACE").

Be sure the Joystick Controllers cables are firmly plugged into the Joystick ports of your PC.
To use the Joystick, select "Joystick" Controller in the VCSS' options panel.


The 2nd player may use a joystick or the joystick emulated through the keyboard.

Press the fire button to aim the catapult.
Release the fire button to launch the rock.
More you'll hold the button down, stronger the launch will be.




4 - Console Controls



Game Select Switch : F3

Use the GAME SELECT switch to select the game number you wish to play.
Hold down the switch down until the correct number appears at the top of the title screen.
See Game Variations to select the game you wish to play.


Game Reset Switch : F4

When you have selected the game number, press down the Game Reset switch to start the game.


Left Difficulty Switch : F5 / F6 - Player 1

If the Left Difficulty switch is in the A position (hard mode) the Power bar will not be displayed on the screen.

If the Left Difficulty switch in the B position (normal mode) the Power bar will be displayed on the screen.


Right Difficulty Switch : F7 / F8 - Player 2

If the Left Difficulty switch is in the A position (hard mode) the Power bar will not be displayed on the screen.

If the Left Difficulty switch in the B position (normal mode) the Power bar will be displayed on the screen.


TV Type switch : F2

Set this switch to COLOR if you have a color monitor. Set it to B-W if you are playing the game in black and white.




5 - Scoring



Hit ennemy castle : 100 Points
Hit your own castle : 100 Points added to your opponent's score

Game 1 : 2 Players
Game 2 : Player vs Computer - Esay
Game 3 : Player vs Computer - Normal
Game 4 : Player vs Computer - Hard
